December can feel like a marathon wrapped in tinsel.
There’s the shopping, the school events, the deadlines, the family expectations… and on top of all of that, the emotional labour of keeping everything running smoothly.

It’s the month when women like you, women already carrying a full load, suddenly find themselves holding even more.

And if you’re already feeling tired, behind, or stretched too thin, please hear this:

You don’t need another project. You need breathing room.

So instead of creating a traditional advent calendar filled with 24 tasks, challenges, or extra commitments (the last thing you need), I want to offer something gentler:

An Advent of Ease.
Small, doable shifts, one each day, that help you feel a little more grounded, a little more in control, and a little more able to breathe.

Not in January. Not once life calms down.
But right now, in the middle of the chaos.

Because sometimes the smallest change makes the biggest difference.

1. Turn off one non-essential notification for 24 hours

You don’t need to be reachable every second. A tiny break creates more space than you expect.

2. Remove one task from your to-do list entirely

Not postponed. Removed.
Say goodbye to something you’re only doing out of obligation.

3. Delegate a micro-task

Ask your partner to wrap one present.
Ask your child to empty the dishwasher.
Ask a colleague to finish a non-urgent email.
Let someone help you, they usually want to.

4. Do a 5-minute brain dump

Your brain is holding too much.
Putting it on paper reduces the noise instantly.

5. Spend 10 minutes clearing your inbox with someone

This is where body doubling becomes magic.
Sit with a friend, colleague, or me, and suddenly things get done.

6. Say no to something you don’t want to attend

One less event = one more evening for you.

7. Unfollow or mute 5 accounts that stress you out

Your nervous system doesn’t need more comparison right now.

8. Protect one quiet cup of tea this week

No phone. No multitasking. Just a moment to breathe.

9. Move one thing to January

Not everything must be done before Christmas, even though it feels that way.

10. Choose a ‘good enough’ option

Perfection is exhausting.
Good enough is a gift to yourself.

11. Ask for clarity before committing

You don’t have to say yes instantly.
Take the pause you need.

12. Remove one barrier from your routine

If you struggle with planning, keep your list visible.
If you forget tasks, set one simple daily reminder.
If decisions drain you, set a daily “top three” and let the rest wait.

These aren’t productivity hacks.

They’re ways to make your December kinder on your mind, calmer on your body, and softer on your schedule.

Why Small Changes Matter So Much

When life is full, big changes feel impossible.
But small changes slip in. They create tiny pockets of space, and space creates relief.

When you give yourself permission to do less, the overwhelm eases.
When you simplify one thing, ten other things feel lighter.
When you stop trying to be everything to everyone, you get to be human again.

This is the real heart of an Advent of Ease:
It’s a reminder that you matter too.

You Don’t Need a Perfect December

Let’s be honest:

December is rarely peaceful for women.
It’s layered. Busy. Emotional.
You’re carrying both the visible responsibilities and the invisible ones.

So I want to offer you something different, a December that doesn’t demand more from you, but gives more back to you.

One small shift at a time.

And if you’d like support to make these changes easier, and to start 2026 feeling more organised, grounded, and less overwhelmed, I can help.

My 1:1 accountability and support is designed for women who are carrying too much.
Women like you.
Women who deserve more space. More calm. More support.

If you’d like to talk about how this could help you, you’re always welcome to reach out.
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
